Stupa hails from Kathmandu and is comprised of musicians from various bands. They have come together in this project to experiment with and experience jazz and other genres. the band consists of Yuvraj Chhettri on Guitar and Vocals, Bimal Gurung on Guitar,Nirakar Yakthumba on Bass, Sanjay Shrestha on Drums, and Mariano Abello on Saxophone.

The band reinvents jazz standards in their own progressive style and performs original material. Yuvraj (otherwise known as the bluesman)was the lead member of Darjeeling's premier rock blues band Rusty nails.Nirakar and Sanjay are members of Nepal’s most famous fusion rock band 1974AD and Bimal just back from Norway after studding music and music technology also plays for catch 22,meanwhile Mariano is the serious jazz man from Spain. Stupa recently backed renowned New York jazz vocalist Sachal Vasadani during his Kathmandu tour. They perform regularly at Moksh Bar in Kathmandu and have performed for audiences in Nepal, India and Bhutan.
