Formed in the year 1997, Sukarma means good deeds figuratively defined by the music they perform. Sukarma's mission is to popularize Nepali folk and classical music through the passion shared by all members of the group. Their devotion towards music is crystallized through the performances that are always soul satisfying to the audience. The success of the mission is defined by the growth of demand for their performances. The group originally consisted of three permanent members; Dr. Dhrubesh Chandra Regmi, Shyam Sharan Nepali and Atul Prasad Gautam. Atul, the charismatic personality with mastery so pronounced that one feels his tabla in perfect synchronization with the heartbeats. He has always mesmerized the audience with his extraordinary presence on stage, an icon and inspiration for the Nepali youth, this extraordinary personality left us in the prime of his youth and talent, leaving all lovers of classical music in a state of oblivion. Together the trio created magic, so well received by the audience that fame came to the group in no time. Collectively the trio has traveled extensively in USA, Switzerland, England, France, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Japan and many other parts of the world. Sukarma's contribution towards Nepali Classical music is unmatched.
After Atul's sudden demise that shook the entire music sector, the group was virtually shattered. But then again with the passage of time and to carry on with the mission that Sukarma started, the search began for the lost beat; Pramod Upadhyaya, another young, talented and versatile musician joined the group on tabla. The mission resumed with a few warm up concerts and performances in closed circles. The passage through the turbulent times has only broadened the group's vision as the responsibility of fulfilling the dreams of their late friend is also on their shoulders. Expectations are unlimited and the faith of so many fans is the guiding philosophy for the group.
